About
Since 2002, I’ve had the joy of creating fine art portraiture for thousands of people throughout Kentucky, West Virginia, and Ohio. I specialize in babies, children, families, high school seniors, surprise proposals, engagements, and professional headshots, always with the goal of creating portraits your heart feels before your eyes do.
The portraits we create together are meant to live far beyond the day they are taken. They become family heirlooms, artwork that preserves the people you love, the seasons you never want to forget, and the fleeting expressions that grow more meaningful with time.
Over the years, one of my greatest honors has been earning the trust of families during their most meaningful milestones, often across generations. I’ve photographed high school seniors whose parents once stood in front of my camera at the very same age. I’ve photographed a newborn and, 24 years later, had the joy of photographing her surprise proposal. Moments like these are the heartbeat of my work. To be invited back again and again to preserve the people, stories, and milestones a family holds closest is a privilege I never take lightly.
My photographic style is rooted in connection. I believe the best portraits happen when people feel comfortable and free to be themselves. Through a friendly, playful, and relaxed approach, I help bring out natural expressions, quiet confidence, and the true spirit of the people I photograph.
I’m a nationally recognized, award-winning portrait photographer based in central Kentucky, with more than two decades of experience behind the camera. Over the years, I’ve had the honor of lecturing at photography conferences across the country, being published in numerous national magazines, and being featured in the book Creative Techniques for Photographing Children. I also hold both Master Photographer and Photographic Craftsman degrees through Professional Photographers of America and have earned the distinguished title of Kentucky Photographer of the Year.
I’m originally from Ashland, Kentucky, and moved to Lexington in 2021 to be closer to my adult daughters, Carlyle and Annabelle. When I’m not behind the camera, you can usually find me enjoying live music, bird watching, caring for my ever-growing houseplant collection, or snuggling my cat, Primrose.
At the heart of everything I create is my love of people: the stories they carry, the connections they share, and the moments that deserve to be preserved beautifully for generations.
